The 2008 Afghan Hound World Congress was held in Västerås, Sweden on July 7-8, 2008. It was a collaboration of the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian Afghan Hound clubs. The Congress turned out very well and we had a wonderful time. I was able to see many old friends and make new ones. Sweden is such a beautiful country and it was nice to return there after seven years. Everyone involved with the Congress worked hard and presented a well-rounded format for everyone to discuss issues and to learn from some of the older breeders. I think everyone enjoyed listening to them and learning from all of their years of knowledge and experience. The World Dog Show was held on the weekend before the World Congress and the famous "Skokloster" dog show was held on the weekend after.
